Grocery Store Employee Missing For Ten Years Found Behind Store's Cooler

The body of a 25-year-old man who went missing ten years ago was found in the vacated building of the supermarket where he used to work. The No Frills Supermarket in Council Bluffs, Iowa has been closed for three years and contractors were ordered to start removing everything inside.

The contractors found the body, which was later identified as Larry Ely Murillo-Moncada, stuck in an 18-inch gap between the back of a cooler and the wall.

Former employees say they used to climb on top of the cooler and hide behind the merchandise to take an unofficial break during their shifts.

Moncada was reported missing in 2009 after he stormed out of his parent's home during a fight over medication he had recently been prescribed. Authorities were unable to find any traces of him, and eventually, the case went cold.

Investigators now believe he went to the supermarket and climbed on top of the cooler following the fight with his parents. Somehow he managed to slip and then fell in between the gap and became trapped in the wall. Authorities said it is likely that the cooler's compressor would have muffled his cries for help. An autopsy was conducted and there were no signs of trauma.

"You don't hear about these types of cases, people found in walls," Sgt. Brandon Danielson told KETV. "Especially in this area, so that would be the odd part of about. We have missing person cases all the time, but this is just unique."
